My name is Dexter, I’m about one-year-old and I’ve found myself here at the Mayhew after someone rescued me from a life on the street as a stray. I’m trying to adjust to my new surroundings and I must say it’s nice to have a comfortable bed and regular food, but it’s a crazy place full of other strange animals and lots of noise, so I’m spending a lot of time sticking to a quiet corner of my cabin for now! I am however checking out my surroundings with some tentative interest – I’m particularly fascinated by the resident rabbits and love to watch them bounding around!
I’m getting used to receiving attention from people and, like most cats, I like it! I enjoy a gentle stroke of the head and I often get a little sleepy as a result! I’m mostly laid-back for a young cat and I’ll happily chill out in a comfortable spot for hours, but I’ve always got one eye open for a bit of action when I feel like it! I am looking for an owner who’ll spend plenty of time getting to know me, with lots of love and interaction in a household where I can appreciate all the fine things a good home has to offer!
