A stunning 1-year-old female, Smarties is a slightly complicated cat who came to the Mayhew when her previous owner died. She’s certainly interested in people and can be affectionate, but she’s nervous around humans and has been known to show aggression, most often with huff and a puff more than anything else. She loves to eat and will growl at you if you disturb her while doing so! She’s got a really playful side to her character and often a tempting toy can be the way to gain her affection.
We think with a little work in a more settled environment her friendlier side will blossom. She’s currently suffering from a skin condition that she’s being treated for, and could be the cause of some of her troubles. She’s looking for an owner with plenty of energy and patience, in a household without children.

As Smarties continues to settle in here at the Mayhew, she’s becoming more and more interested in people. She’s now very keen to jump right out of bed when she spots you coming to pay her a visit and will rub against your legs to say hello! She still prefers the relationship to be on her terms, but definitely craves that human touch more whole-heartedly.
