Sally
Hi, my name is Sally and I am a very beautiful black female (so everyone tells me!). I came to The Mayhew in April 2000 when I was a young 7-month-old, so I am 8 years and 9 months now!
In my previous home, although it was such a long time ago, I lived with lots of other cats, so many in fact my owner sent some of us away. I didn’t have a very good start to life; so many cats and not enough human contact. Because of this, when I arrived at The Mayhew, I was absolutely terrified and I wouldn’t let anyone near me!
Eventually I was allowed to live as part of the garden cat brigade, although I thought “not more cats” I enjoyed the freedom.
I tended to segregate myself and decided to go it alone, moving to another area within The Mayhew. I wanted a bit of peace and quiet but little did I know that humans would often come into this area. One of the humans started to bring me food and made me a nice sleeping spot, she never bothered me. In time I decided that she was Ok so I started to visit her in reception where she worked.
You could say the rest is history! We became good friends and I have been with her ever since; moving offices wherever she may be working and now I live upstairs in the offices and staff room keeping people company.
My life has changed, I love nothing more than a lap to sit on and love human company. Having lived here for such a long time I would like a home where there is someone around most of the day and night (I sleep with the night staff here so I don’t like to be on my own too long) Are you looking for someone like me? I am tolerant of other cats and some dogs (as long as they know their place) but I would prefer to be the one who gets all the attention!
If you think you can offer me a loving, fully-committed, lifetime home or would like to know more about me, please contact The Mayhew Animal Home or visit during viewing times.
