Jackie

Hello, my name is Jackie.

I am a twelve year old female Collie Crossbreed. My life was turned upside down when my owner died recently but happily I am now in a loving foster home.

My foster mum says that I am a very sweet girl who will make a wonderful companion for some lucky person. I am very well behaved and have no issues at all. I am very friendly with other dogs, big and small, and I get on well with Pishy the cat in my foster home. I am housetrained and I sleep peacefully on my comfy duvet in the living room at night. I am not at all demanding and will happily fit in with whatever you want to do. Despite my age, I L-U-R-V-E going out for a walk. My foster mum takes me out to this huge park three times a day for around half an hour at a time. I am good on lead and I don’t pull. Off the lead I explore happily on my own and I love going for a paddle in the pond. I come back when called, although I do have the odd bout of ‘selective hearing’ if I am very interested in something but as I am never more than 10 yards away my foster mum says it is not a problem. I am very friendly with people, even the postman, and am very polite when we visit the neighbours. I greet everyone with a big wag of my tail but I don’t jump all over you. I like my food but am not greedy and I don’t beg at the table. I take treats very gently and am good in the car, although I prefer to stand up on the back seat rather than lie down. I am in good health and have lots of love to give.

I am looking for a comfortable retirement home with a nice garden to potter about in and someone who will give me a minimum of one hour off lead exercise a day for around half an hour at a time. I am fine with children and am still quite playful so I could live with sensible children over eight years of providing they respect my age and won’t pester me. I would happily share my forever home with a cat or another well behaved dog, providing we were well matched. Although I love company I can be left for a few hours a day if you work part-time. My foster mum says I am a very easy dog and a quiet and loyal girl who just needs someone to love and a settled routine. So, please come and see me as soon as you can.

Hope to see you soon
