Jodie (Reserved)
Hello, My name is Jodie
I am a two year old female, Staffordshire Bull Terrier Crossbreed. I arrived at The Mayhew when previous owners separated and neither of them felt they could take care of me.
I am an affectionate and playful dog. I am active and I love going to the park. I walk well on lead once I am over those first five minutes of excitement of being out and about. Off lead I have a very good recall. Unfortunately I've not been properly socialised with other dogs in the past so I currently have to wear a muzzle and longline on my walks. I’m undergoing training and socialisation and already I’m showing signs of improvement. I am housetrained and I know all the basic commands, which I respond well to. I am very friendly and affectionate with everybody I meet and I take special care when saying hello to small children. My favourite thing is playing fetch. I enjoy my food but I am not greedy. I take treats gently and I travel well in the car.
I am now looking for a new home with someone who is experienced with dogs and will be confident in dealing with my nature around other dogs and will continue my training and socialisation. I would happily fit into a family, I am good with children of all ages but I would prefer to be the only dog in the home. I could also settle down with someone who worked full-time providing I’m given a good off-lead run in the morning before leaving me and providing I’m not left longer than four hours without a break, e.g. by hiring a dog walker or coming home at lunchtime. My new guardians will need to be fully prepared for the hard work and long term commitment involved in caring for a dog: they will be taking on a twelve-year commitment which must not be taken lightly.
I hope to see you soon,
Jodie x
