Hello, my name is Levi

I am an eight month old male Rottweiler. I arrived at The Mayhew after being found abandoned on the streets of London.

I am a friendly, playful and sweet natured boy. I am now in a foster home where I have settled down really well. I walk beautifully on lead and I stick close to you off-lead and my recall is good unless I am distracted by another dog and then I may need a couple of calls before I come back. I get on very well with other dogs I love nothing more than running around and playing with other dogs I meet in the park, although I don’t like it if the playing gets too rough. I know the basic commands which I respond well to but I’m still very puppy like and I need to learn manners. I’m eager to please and I enjoy my training. I am housetrained but I do need to be let out regularly during the day although I am completely dry at night where I settle down happily on the sofa downstairs. I am very friendly with people although a little shy when strangers come to the house. I will hang back for a while before coming forward to give you a gentle lick.

I would like to find a home with an active person or family who have owned dogs before. Someone who will continue my training, take me to training classes and will provide me with two thirty minute off lead walks every day in a park or open space, building up to a minimum of one to two hours of off lead exercise daily once I'm fully grown. I can live with other dogs providing they have been well trained and will be a good role model for me. Any children in my new home will need to be over six years of age. I’m currently looking for a home where there is someone around for most of the day although I am happy to be left on my own for a couple of hours. My foster family say I am the sweetest dog they have ever known so if you are looking for a fun loving and affectionate dog then I’m the boy for you but please remember you will need to be fully prepared for the hard work and long-term commitment involved in caring for a dog; you'll be taking on a twelve year commitment which must not be taken lightly.
