Mya
Hello, my name is Mya
I’m an 18 month old female, Great Dane and Dalmatian Crossbreed. I arrived at The Mayhew because my previous owners decided they no longer wanted me.
I am a very playful girl and I’m very affectionate with people I know and trust. I have been mistreated in the past and as a result I can be unpredictable with strangers but once I know you I’m a big softy. I’ve not had much experience with other dogs so I don’t know how to react around them. I am very clever and I know all the usual commands. I am also house trained. It is not yet known how long I can be left alone for so I’m currently looking for a home where there is someone at home for most of the day.
I would like to find a home with experienced dog owners who will work on my socialisation around strangers and other dogs. I'm active and fun-loving and I need minimum of one to two hours of off lead exercise daily in a park or open space, wearing a muzzle and 50ft plus longline due to my occasional dislike of strangers. I love water so someone living local to a pond or river would be a great plus. Any children in my new home will need to be at least sixteen years of age or above. I could possibly live with a well trained, confident and out-going male dog providing we are the right match.
My new guardians will need to be fully prepared for the hard work and long-term commitment involved in caring for a dog; they will be taking on a twelve year commitment which must not be taken lightly.
I hope to see you soon,
Mya x
