Toffo

 

Hello, my name is Toffo,

I’m an 11 year old male, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel but don’t let my age fool you as I am still full of beans and quite hardy. I came into The Mayhew when my previous owner took on a fulltime job and felt she could no longer look after me.

I am now in a foster home and my foster mum says my tail never stops wagging and I am a real gentleman both in and out of the house. I am very easy going and I don’t demand fuss or attention. I thoroughly enjoy my walks and meeting other dogs. I walk well on lead and my recall is good although I sometimes have selective hearing if I am having a good old sniff around but as I don’t wander off very far my foster mum says it’s never a problem. Once we get home I am happy to simply snooze in my basket until it is time for another walk or something to eat. However I am partial to sleeping on the bed at night so hopefully you won’t mind budging up to make room for me. I am fully housetrained and I don’t bark or yap. I am not fussy with food and I travel well in the car.

My ideal home would be a quietish one where I can enjoy an hour’s stroll in the park daily with a comfy basket to come home to. I would be happy to live with sensible children and I could live with another dog too providing we’re the right match. I would make a great pet for first time owners providing they are fully prepared for the hard work and commitment involved in caring for a dog. I could also live with someone who worked fulltime so long as I’m not left alone for longer than four hours without a break, either by hiring a dog walker, pet sitter, or coming home at lunch time. I have a heart murmur which requires daily medication but I don’t let it slow me down. My new guardians are welcome to use The Mayhew Clinic for reduced price heart medication, which will cost approximately £55 per month. My foster mum says you only have to meet me to see what a lovely boy I am.
