Happily Homed: Sophie
This month we hear from the new owners of Sophie, a staffie with a heart of gold. Staffies are a breed that are highly prevalent in rescue centres at present and a breed that are often misunderstood and misrepresented by the press. Sophie's new family are over the moon with her and they are not alone in the joy which this breed can bring to a responsible family.
Dear The Mayhew,
It's Geraldine, proud owner of Sophie here. We had our 6 month 'post-home visit' last week and it was a lovely warm day. The dogs were out to meet our home visitor and they greeted her very well! I felt our visitor was happy with our dogs.
Sophie very quickly became one of the family and adapted very well to our home life, which sometimes seems like mayhem with two babies under one year old, a ten and eleven year old, plus 2 cats and of course our first rescue dog Chance!
Chance adores Sophie and she him. It's lovely to see them together and her nature is wonderful, she loves other dogs.
To be honest I was a touch wary of her breed what with all the bad press, but I needn't have been. It's seems so unfair and I really do believe it's bad owners, not bad dogs.We have two dogs to be proud off so thank you for our Sophie and we'll pop in and see you all soon!
